Jaryd Lazar (Born: April 23, 1987 [Age 31]), may look young but he’s already retired from active competition when it comes to some video games! Instead of busting his hide on perfecting his craft on one particular game these days, Jaryd offers his expertise to many teams and tries his hand at a number of games.
Better known as Summit1G, Lazar began his career in 2012. He started off streaming Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. However, he stopped playing the game in late 2016. After partnering up with both A51 and Team Mythic, he got hooked on PUBG, following its pre-release in March of 2017.
Since March 2017, Summit1G has made a habit of streaming Fortnite, Day Z, and GTA V. While he normally pulls in around 20,000 viewers live, he hit 90,000 at its peak. This epic moment was when Summit1G’s official page streamed his game against The Mythic in the Esports Championship Series Qualifier.
Interestingly enough, Summit’s manager is his long-time ex-wife. Jaryd married Desirae Lazar in 2013. However, the couple amicably divorced in 2017. They still remain friends and she still overlooks his bookings.
Although video gaming is his expertise, Summit1G put his marketing skills to good use late last year. During the Floyd “Money” Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor pre-fight conference, Summit used his Twitch page to stream the shennanigans. This led to a boot in viewership for not only his page but set a record for the IRL section of Twitch.
