Imane Anys (Born: May 14, 1996 [Age: 22]) goes by the name of Pokimane in the realm of video game streaming. This Twitch and YouTube sensation plays many games but her specialties are Fortnite and League of Legends. Pokimane posted a couple of videos to her Twitch account in 2016, and then went dormant. However, she made a hugely successful return to the streaming service in August 2017. By years end, Pokimane had already gained 450,000 subscribers.
Due to this quick rise in notoriety, Pokimane won a Shorty Award for the Best Twitch Streamer of the Year. All of this attention garner Pokimane a role in a League of Legends trailer. In her bit appearance, Pokimane announced a new game mode for the franchise.
These successes led to Twitch partnering with Pokimane directly. In July 2018, Pokimane was 1 of the 15 ambassadors on behalf of the company at TwitchCon.
At a Pro-Am event for Epic Games (the creators of Fortnite), Pokimane was teamed up with the rapper Desiigner. While traffic to sponsors YouPorn dropped during the stream by a whopping 13.57%, searches for Desiigner and Pokimane jumped by 721% and 70% each.
To this day, Pokimane continues to grow in popularity. Pokimane has started to post videos about her opinions on many real-world events. The streamer also creates autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) entries. She does these trigger sensations in viewers to help them fall asleep. In addition to all of this content, Pokimane has launched her own podcast.
