Olajide William “JJ” Olatunji (Born: June 19, 1993 [Age: 25]) is most widely known to the world as KSI. KSI is a derivative of the name he launched his career with (KSIOlajideBT). This British rapper-gamer-boxer rose to stardom when he created his YouTube channel back in 2009. At the time, Olajide focused mainly on video games, namely FIFA World Cup and Grand Theft Auto V.
With his gamer career starting to take off, KSI got his name in the Guinness World Records Gaming Edition for the Record Slam in FIFA beating the computer’s goal of 110 with a whopping 190. As he found success, the star also found controversy. At a 2012 Eurogamer event, KSI was accused of sexually harassing attendees. This led to Microsoft dropping the internet sensation as a spokesperson.
As a gamer, KSI joined a group called Sidemen. They made YouTube videos together. However, KSI started to draw away from the pack. Eventually, he wrote a diss track about his former group. This led to many breakups and reunions (and diss tracks) among the group that continues into present day.
Switching gears from video games, most of KSI’s videos now center around his rap career. With over 19 million subscribers to his YouTube channel, the eyes helped the British star reach #1 on the UK R&B Album Charts for his debut EP, Keep Up.
While rap is KSI’s bread and butter, he does release content that involves comedy and acting as well. In 2016, Olajide started his boxing career. This has also become a focal point for videos on KSI’s YouTube page. As of right now, he has a 1-0-1 career.
