Elizabeth Koshy is now known the world over as a famous actress. However, she earned her rise to fame through Vine and then YouTube. Koshy started posting comedic Vine videos back in 2013 under the name Lizzza. When Vine shut its doors, Lizzza had 5 million followers.
Seeing the writing on the wall for Vine, Elizabeth started her YouTube channel. The star made headlines right off the bat when she secured President Barrack Obama for an interview on the importance of voting during the 2016 Presidential Election.
While most of Koshy’s videos are comedic, she does speak about personal issues as well. Some of the topics that Elizabeth likes to tackle involve anxiety and the need to fit in. She likes to tackle internet trolls head-on. At the same time, Elizabeth tries to remain accessible for her fans and engage her viewers to interact with the community.
As 2017 rolled in, Kosh became the “Fastest YouTube Personality to Reach 10 Million Subscribers.”
That caught the eye of Hollywood. Soon, Elizabeth was cast in the Hulu original horror flick, Freakish. This was followed by a role in Boo! A Madea Halloween.
With a few feature films under her belt, Elizabeth moved on to a hosting career. Currently, she serves as a host for the rebranded TRL alongside the Dolan Twins. She is also currently the host of the rebooted Double Dare on Nickelodeon. All of this attention has earned Koshy a total of two Streamy Awards, four Teen Choice Awards, as well as one Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Award.
