Jordan Maron (Born: February 10, 1992 [Age: 26]) is also known as Captainsparklez to gaming circles. Born in Los Angeles, California, Maron moved to Santa Barbara when he was eight. He would stay there as he entered adulthood. After high school, Jordan started attending the University of California, Santa Barbara. There, his major was chemical engineering.
However, Jordan’s love for video games caused him to switch his major to computer science in freshman year. The change would prove for naught as the future Captainsparklez would quit college his sophomore year. By December 2011, Jordan started his YouTube page and career as a professional streamer.
Prior to starting his main page, Captainsparklez tested the livestream waters back in February of 2010 when he started his channel, ProsDONTtalkSHIT. ProsDONTtalkSHIT was mostly Call of Duty content. Once Minecraft blew up, the Captainsparkelz channel was created and the rest was history.
Since blowing up, Maron has joined a lot of other ventures. He started Maron Music back in March 2016 where he produces his own tracks and releases electronic music to music producers. Additionally, Captainsparkelz started up the gaming company, XREAL. This blew up in Mach 2015 with the release of Fortress Fury. This amassed over 1.5 million downloads. All of this success landed Captainsparklez on the Forbes 30 under 30.
