This landmark pageant was the first after the Nuestra Belleza México would forfeit its recognition to the Miss World franchise. The change would also alter the trajectory of Andrea Meza’s career.

Meza quickly advanced through the Top 16. She faced stiff competition in the Top 10 before eeking her way into the Top 2. She would lose out to Ana Girault.

Undeterred, Andrea Meza would return the next year…and with a vengeance. This beauty queen snatched the crown, earning the title of Miss World Mexico 2017.

Andrea Meza became Miss World Mexico on November 18, 2017. She earned this title in the coveted Sanya City Arena, located in Sanya, China.
